We (Viewers corner) gathered from our correspondent recently that the United States of America has agreed to bring back 480 million dollars looted by the late military dictator of Nigeria (Sani Abacha). This is a welcome news, the late Sani Abacha was among the worst leaders Nigeria has ever had in the history of the country. He was among those who believed in power and never wanted to leave office. Nigeria is a beautiful country which would have been ruled to the betterment of all the people of the country but unfortunately it was placed in the hands of those who never cared about the welfare of other citizens of the country (Nigeria). Again as an individual, he (Sani Abacha) embezzled 480 million dollars, what would be the effect of this loot to the country (Nigeria)? It would most probably lead to economic ruin which would at the end create serious problems for the ordinary citizens of Nigeria. Abacha’s loot is not only in one country of the world, the 480 million dollars we are talking about is the one hidden in the United States of America. What of other countries around the world that have not returned the Abacha’s stolen wealth up till now which Nigerians know about and also the ones they may not know too? This is unbelievable, money meant for the whole country, an individual (Abacha) sat on it with his family while millions of Nigerians can barely feed nicely. Also under ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, such attitude continued but in a different democratic style. This is too bad. However with president Buhari, things may change because he is doing nicely on the fight against corruption at the moment. We pray and hope that he steps up action on that aspect and also have a good framework for the economy of Nigeria, honestly the country (Nigeria) needs total clean up. We (Viewers corner) are appealing to everyone in the helm of affairs in Nigeria to please have a second thought and always remember that no matter the amount of money anyone may have stolen from the government of Nigeria to enrich himself or herself without thinking of the implication/harm it would create for the majority of Nigerians, that someday you would leave this planet earth without those worldly things you may have acquired through different means. Please show concern to millions of Nigerians who have no means of getting help from anywhere because the economic situation of the country (Nigeria) is hitting them so hard.
