The New Zealand’s White Island volcano erupted on Monday, 9 December 2019 and five people were reportedly dead while many others were wounded. Also efforts are being made to locate any survivors of the deadly volcanic eruption. The eruption according to the report happened with little warning while some tourists from nearby cruise ship Ovation of the Seas were touring the volcano. Our correspondent learned that twenty three people, all were injured to some degree have been evacuated from the island since the eruption and the five people that died were among the evacuees. New Zealand is located in one of the world’s most tectonically-volatile regions, while the eruption was not huge like other past disasters, anyone close to the site would be in serious danger according to the report.
