A Twin-Otter turboprop N9-AHH aircraft belonging to Tara Air which gone missing few minutes after it took off from the Pokhara airport on its way to Jomsom has crashed in a remote mountainous region at western district of Myagdi.
According to report, the small plane which crashed on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 killed all 23 people on board. These 23 people apart from 3 crew members includes 18 Nepalese citizens, two children and two foreigners (a Chinese and a Kuwaiti citizen). The aircraft caught fire after it crashed and the wreckage was found in Solighopte forest. The cause of the crash is yet to be determined as at the time of this report but preliminary investigation suggested low visibility due to a cloud of dust covering the area.
