NATIONAL AGENCY FOR THE CONTROL OF AIDS (NACA) TARGETS FIVE THOUSAND PEOPLE FROM ZAMFARA STATE TO BENEFIT FROM FREE HIV TEST.

The federal government of Nigeria has introduced a free HIV test programme through the National Agency for the Control of Aid (NACA) in order to ensure that HIV/AIDS is reduced and controlled in Nigeria. The agency which flag-off the programme in Nahuche village, Bungudu local government area of Zamfara state (Nigeria) on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 disclosed through its Project Manager, Mr Muhammad Haruna that the agency has targeted 5,000 Zamfara people to benefit from the free HIV test.
According to him, they have deployed 20 medical doctors, 40 nurses and other health workers in collaboration with the State Action Committee on AIDS (SACA) for the programme which would last for four days in the state. This is a welcome development and good initiatives by the federal government and Viewers Corner applaud NACA and SACA for conducting the exercise in order to eradicate HIV/AIDS in the country.
