MYANMAR MILITARY VOW TO UPHOLD DEMOCRATIC RULES IN THE COUNTRY, THIS IS A WELCOME NEWS.

The military in Myanmar through General Min Aung Hlaing said recently that democracy has finally come to stay in the country and they would support the democratic process. Myanmar has been ruled in the past by the military juntas who never believed in democratic government and now that they have welcomed the system in the country, we pray and hope they keep to their promise.
Again civilized nations of the world have embraced this system of government (democracy) which almost everyone around the world believes is the best system of government where citizens of every country would have the God given right to choose who leads them and not the other way round. The general election that brought Aung San Suu Kyi’s political party (National League for Democracy) to power is a good example of what democracy is all about, now the political party would have the power to direct the affairs of the country (Myanmar) which would benefit the citizens of Myanmar. We also gathered from our (Viewers corner) correspondent in Myanmar that Aung San Suu Kyi would be appointed the foreign minister of the country, normally she should have been the president of Myanmar but the constitution of the country which was drafted by the military juntas in the past is still being used and does not permit her (Aung San Suu Kyi) to be the president of the country because one of her sons has a foreign passport. This is very funny, however the party has promised to carry out reforms as time goes on to correct some of the activities in the country which may not be in conformity with the principles of democracy. The constitution that is in use now in Myanmar was drafted by the military juntas when they were in power and needs to be changed to suit democratic principles.
