MUSTAFA UGURLU, A SENIOR TURKISH MILITARY OFFICER IN THE FAILED COUP IN TURKEY HAS APPLIED FOR ASYLUM IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

A senior Turkey military officer, Mustafa Ugurlu who was alleged to have played a role in the failed coup that was carried out sometime ago in Turkey has applied for asylum in the United States of America. Information reaching Viewers Corner News revealed that Mustafa Ugurlu is among those wanted in Turkey by the government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the alleged coup plot and now that he has applied for asylum in the United States of America, his extradition to Turkey may be difficult based on the international law protecting those that applied for asylum in any country of their choice.
His case would likely further strain ties between Turkey and the United States. Turkey is already demanding United States to extradite Fethullah Gulen (a U.S. based Turkish cleric) which the government of President Tayyip Erdogan accuses of being responsible for the failed coup.
