We (Viewers corner) have heard so much stories and speculations on when fuel scarcity will end in the country (Nigeria) so that the citizens of Nigeria would start getting petroleum to buy in all the fuel stations across the country. We expect Mr. Ibe Kachikwu (Nigerian minister of state for petroleum resources) to always keep to his promise and as a minister in-charge of this essential product in Nigeria, he should plan properly and have a clear vision on when this product would be made available to the consumers. As it is now, we have recorded in two occasions where promises were made and never kept by the Minister (Mr. Ibe Kachikwu) and his ministry. When such attitude continues, it then means that you do not know your job and what it takes to be a minister in-charge of the petroleum ministry.
Nigerians rely so much on this petroleum to make life a bit easier for them and now that the petroleum product is very scarce in the country, it means that the hardship has increased despite the ones Nigerians are already facing. Our (Viewers corner) advise to the minister of state for petroleum, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu is to do his homework properly and know when fuel scarcity will end in Nigeria so that the product will be available at all petrol stations in the country. Again when you are not sure of that, please do not give the Nigerian people the hope like you did in the past. Recently the minister of state for petroleum (Mr. Ibe Kachikwu) said that the petroleum scarcity would be extended to the next two months, such forecast is not right. This automatically means that you do not know when the issue of petroleum scarcity would end in the country (Nigeria), functional government anywhere in the world does not work like that. Our question is this, is your ministry going to perform magic within this short period of time? Honestly we are of the opinion that after this two months of promising to end fuel scarcity in Nigeria, another story may come in which we do not pray for because the hardship is getting out of hand in the country.
Again for any government to succeed, proper economic plans should be in place but with what we are seeing happening in the petroleum sector of the Nigerian economy where the minister himself does not even know when the scarcity would end because of his inability to carry out proper forecast in his ministry and pass his findings on to the appropriate authority so that they can review it and possibly implement his ideas. As a minister, that is part of your job however we are appealing to president Buhari’s administration to look into the issue of fuel scarcity and do something to ease the pains Nigerian people are facing because such scarcity of a very essential product in the country can make a government unpopular which we (Viewers corner) would not want to happen to Buhari’s led government. Please act fast to create easy way to end the scarcity of petroleum in the country (Nigeria).
