All Progressives Congress (APC) of Nigeria is a political party believed by majority of Nigerians both home and abroad to be a great party. They came to power so as to get the damaged economy of the country (Nigeria) properly fix thereby making things generally affordable to all Nigerians and also fight corruption to a conclusive end. These were some of the reasons majority of Nigerians voted them to power in 2015. To an extent, the political party (APC) is doing quite well in trying to build various projects abandoned by the past governments after stealing the money meant for those projects, but on the other hand based on what is happening in Nigeria today, the party’s leadership is trying to make the political party (APC) unreachable and unaffordable to majority of Nigerians which, if not checked now would affect them in the long run.
We (Viewers Corner News team) would also want to remind the political party (APC) that president Buhari is a great man and also the face of All Progressives Congress (APC) today, if he leaves office either 2019 or 2023, APC as a political party may be history if they keep on treading on this wrong monetary part which most Nigerians are not comfortable with. What it means is that majority of Nigerians would shift support to other political parties that are affordable and reachable to them. Our (Viewers Corner News team) reason for saying so is that All Progressives Congress (APC) ignored and refused to abide by the INEC rules which placed a specific amount of money to purchase tickets for presidential, governorship and other electoral positions in the country (Nigeria).
The party (APC) placed their own fees as it suits them which most Nigerians who are interested in various electoral offices can not afford to pay and another problem is that the party (APC) refused to make it public on time. Why would they hide it if they have no hidden agenda? The time given by APC leadership was too short, only five days to raise this money and register. For most would be aspirants to get this huge sum of money (45 million Naira for presidential, 22.5 million for governorship etc.) may be difficult considering the time frame.
In our (Viewers Corner News team) interpretation, it is like the system has been compromised to favour a particular group of aspirants. Honestly this does not show sincerity and transparency. Such system may encourage corruption because those who would want to contest in future elections under APC would go extra miles to steal and make sure they buy the tickets for governorship and presidential. For a political party (APC) believed by most Nigerians to be doing well, this singular attitude performed by APC has brought a huge question mark on the political party (APC).
In Nigeria today, there are great people with great ideas who would like to vie for governorship elections to make their various states across Nigeria great if they are elected who are also members of APC but with this huge sums of money placed on tickets as fee by All Progressives Congress (APC), their dreams of becoming governors may be killed which is not good at all. Therefore, we (Viewers Corner News team) are pleading with the leadership of APC to make the political party reachable and affordable to all Nigerians if they truly believe in what they are preaching. We (Viewers Corner News team) would also let All Progressives Congress (APC) understand that any political party which does not obey rules anywhere in the world is gradually making the party unpopular and irrelevant no matter how good the party may claim to be. Please APC revisit your system and have it fix now so that the legacy you have built and still on the right road to success would not go in vain.
