The Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah was on Sunday, 22 April 2018 named the PFA (Professional Footballers’ Association) player of the year. Salah is the first Egyptian to win the award. Having scored 41 goals in all competitions this season, he became the first Liverpool player since Ian Rush in 1986-87 to reach the 40-goal mark. Salah beat Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City (Salah’s top challenger) and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur to win the award at Grosvenor House in central London.
He has scored 31 goals in the Premier League, nine in Europe and one more in the FA Cup.
