MICHEL TEMER, THE BRAZILIAN PRESIDENT HAS REFUSED TO STEP DOWN FROM OFFICE FOLLOWING CALLS FOR HIS RESIGNATION.

President Michel Temer of Brazil said he will not step down after several people in the country (Brazil) call for his resignation. President Temer was asked to resign from office after a secret recorded conversation between him (President Temer) and Joesley Batista (the chairman of meat company JBS) emerged where he was allegedly discussing a bribe payments during an investigation into the corruption of some of  the country’s top politicians. President Temer denied the allegation saying that he did not authorize any payment to keep anyone quiet. An audio recording where Mr Temer appears to be discussing bribes was released recently by Brazil’s O Globo newspaper and the country’s opposition lawmakers are making moves to impeach President Temer. This is less than a year the former president (Dilma Rousseff) was forced out of office on the charges that she violated budget laws.
