Markus Kattner, the 45-year-old German who until his sack was the FIFA acting Secretary General has been relieved of his post by the Football World governing body, FIFA. According to report, Markus Kattner who joined FIFA in 2003 as director of finance was accused of paying himself bonuses worth millions of pounds. Kattner became FIFA acting Secretary General after Jerome Valcke was fired due to irregularities.
The United Nations official, Fatma Samoura (54-year-old Senegalese woman) has been appointed the FIFA’s new permanent Secretary General and she is expected to resume office next month, June. Congratulations to FIFA.
