MANY CITIZENS OF RUSSIA DEMAND THE RESIGNATION OF DMITRY MEDVEDEV (RUSSIAN PRIME MINISTER) OVER HIS RECENT COMMENTS ON TEACHERS’ SALARIES.

Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian Prime Minister is in trouble after his recent comments on teachers’ salaries in the country, about 180,000 people have signed a petition to President Vladimir Putin demanding the prime minister’s resignation. According to report, the prime minister when asked by a university lecturer from Dagestan region why teachers in the country are receiving low pay around 15,000 rubles ($230) per month, he told the lecturer to go into business if he wants to make money. He also stated that one earns money depending on what one chooses in one’s life. How can a prime minister make such comments? This is crude and reckless, normally the post of a country’s prime minister is supposed to be headed by an individual who cares for humanity and is equally competent but the reverse is the case in Russia.

The Russian lower house of parliament is expected to debate on the petition against Dmitry Medvedev since the house is obliged to debate on any petition that gets 100,000 signatures.
