Findings have shown that children of Nigerian politicians and senior government officials are studying in schools abroad. Few of those politicians and senior government officials who have their children in Nigerian schools made sure they attend the best private schools/universities in the country (Nigeria) using their positions and money meant for the people of Nigeria to finance such personal projects while majority of Nigerian children whose parents can not afford school fees in various schools across Nigeria either send their children to a low cost institution or leave those children roaming about without being enrolled in any school. This has increased the number of school dropouts in Nigeria, it is a sad situation in the country (Nigeria).
Based on this, we (Viewers Corner News team) are calling on the federal government of Nigeria to re-examine their policy on education and make sure that in the annual budget, education gets the highest funding or something reasonable because any country which can not educate her youths (quality education) may in the long run have more thugs in the country and when such happens in Nigeria, it could be extremely difficult for those few educated individuals to run the affairs of the country (Nigeria) nicely. Those uneducated ones may make governance difficult for the educated ones in office, hence we (Viewers Corner News team) are appealing for a change of direction most especially on issue of education in Nigeria.
