Nigeria’s minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, had a meeting recently with representatives of university students in Nigeria. They wanted to know why the government of Nigeria has not settled the problems they are having with lecturers in universities across the country. This unpleasant problem has affected students across Nigeria badly, and the students are tired. The students are so frustrated that courses of four years would last more than the required period because of strikes, which the federal government is not finding a solution to solve. Meanwhile, the leaders of Nigeria, including Mallam Adamu Adamu, have all their children studying abroad, which is not fair. All the students in Nigeria are saying that since their parents have no money to send them abroad to study, the government of Nigeria should settle the problems with the university authorities so that they can go back to school. Is this too much to ask of the leaders of Nigeria? When you elect an incompetent leader to office as a president, the incompetent leader will appoint ministers who do not know what leadership is all about. This is exactly what Nigerians should expect. Malam Adamu Adamu, who is the minister of education in Nigeria, is an incompetent minister, hence he is unable to bring the matter to an end after the students had that meeting with him. As a father, he should have calmed the students’ representatives down. Instead, he arrogantly left the hall because he believed that those students were not making sense to him. His children are studying abroad, leaving Nigerian schools to continue with their strike action, which is bad. The Viewers Corner News team pleads with the people of Nigeria to elect a competent leader as president of Nigeria in 2023. A leader who will appoint qualified individuals as ministers to run the affairs of various ministries in the country. Nigerian voters, do not vote based on sentiment; vote based on merit. An individual who will carry all the people of the country along and at the same time have the economy of Nigeria working better. A leader who would respect the rules of the law and also bring the insecurity across the country to an end. This is the type of leader Nigeria needs to move the country forward.
