The 31-year-old Galatasaray player, Lukas Podolski has retired from Germany national team. He announced his retirement from the national team on Monday thereby ending his 12-year international career that saw him win World Cup for his country. Lukas Podolski, one of Germany most famous players made 129 appearances and scored 48 goals. According to his Instagram post, Podolski stated that he had informed Joachim Loew (Germany coach) about his retirement from international football which takes effect immediately. He also said that he wants to spend time on other things especially his family. Podolski’s first appearance in Germany national team was in June 2004 under Coach Rudi Voeller and since then he has been performing excellently for his country.
