LIBERIA’S SUPREME COURT HAS SUSPENDED THE COUNTRY’S PRESIDENTIAL RUN-OFF AMID ALLEGATIONS OF IRREGULARITIES AND FRAUD.

The Liberia presidential run-off between Vice-President Joseph Boakai and former football star George Weah has been suspended by the country’s Supreme court due to allegations of irregularities and frauds. Charles Brumskine of Liberty Party who came third in the first vote made the allegations and the country’s highest court said that the vote can not proceed until the electoral commission has investigated the claims. The presidential run-off between Joseph Boakai and former football star George Weah was schedule to take place on November 7, 2017 but has been put off pending the outcome of the investigation as directed by the Supreme court of Liberia. However if a date is fix for the presidential run-off after the investigation, then whoever wins between Vice-President Joseph Boakai and George Weah, the former football star shall replace president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who is the current president of Liberia.
