The Chinese former deputy security minister, Li Dongsheng has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for corruption related offences. According to information our correspondent obtained, Li Dongsheng was tried in October last year at a court in the northeastern city of Tianjin and was charged with illegal collection of about 22 million yuan ($3.5 million) worth of assets. Since three years ago President Xi Jinping came to power, his government has been doing great in the anti-graft fight. Many top officials in the Communist ruling party who were corrupt have been sentenced to jail, between 13 and 20 years including the Chinese former security chief, Zhou Yongkang who was sentenced to life in prison in June 2015. Others include, former oil executives (Jiang Jiemin and Wang Yongchun), an aide from Sichuan province (Guo Yongxiang) and the former deputy party boss in Sichuan (Li Chuncheng). Li Dongsheng’s personal assets worth about 1 million yuan were also confiscated by the Chinese authorities.
