LEBANON LEGALISED THE CULTIVATION OF CANNABIS FOR MEDICINAL AND INDUSTRIAL USE.

In the midst of a financial crisis, Lebanese legislators on Tuesday approved a law legalising the cultivation of cannabis for medicinal and industrial use, becoming the first Arab country to take such decision. Lebanon is one of the world’s top producers of cannabis and the decision to legalise cannabis farming would offer economic incentives for the debt-ridden country (Lebanon). It was estimated that the cannabis could generate about $1 billion (Dh3.67bn) in revenue a year.
