General Sani Abacha

LATE GENERAL SANI ABACHA (EX-MILITARY LEADER OF NIGERIA) ALLEGEDLY SAID THAT ANY INSURGENCY THAT LAST FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS HAS THE BACKING OF THE GOVERNMENT.

Despite the alleged atrocities late General Sani Abacha might have committed in the eyes of the world while in office as the leader of Nigeria, one good thing about him which many Nigerians would attest to was his ability to crush and bring to an end any form of terrorism anywhere it was found in Nigeria. This attitude was also what President Buhari of the 80s was known for including ending corruption in Nigeria during his military days as the leader of the country. These two leaders would not have tolerated anyone negotiating with terrorists and other bandits in the forest whose main aim is to kill Nigerians. Recently a prominent northern cleric (Sheikh Gumi Ahmed) went to the forest to negotiate with criminals and came out to tell Nigerians that the bandits should not be called criminals, meaning that something is seriously wrong somewhere. In a functional government, such individual no matter his status in the society should have been arrested without delay. Again, if it were during ex-president Sani Abacha’s era, such man would have been picked up for questioning, the same goes if it were during General Buhari’s military era. These military leaders would not condone such act of recklessness from anyone which is the truth, take it or leave it. Again, the manipulative plans of those who want to conquer Nigeria have lost their bid to do so because the people of Nigeria are now aware of their deceitful game plans and such group of people may not win any election in Nigeria anymore because if anyone from their ethnic group in Nigeria comes out to vie for any leadership position in the country, majority of Nigerians may not be comfortable to have such ethnic group lead them anymore which is the truth. However, Nigerians should thank president Buhari for letting them know the hidden agendas of the Fulani dominated northern region which in the past was mainly Hausa tribe as alleged. Look at the kidnappings going on in the northern part of Nigeria, how can kidnappers go inside a school and abduct hundreds of students without being caught? How did they transport those students if some prominent leaders in the northern part of Nigeria were not involved in this evil act? These are honest questions which the federal government of Nigeria should offer answers to. 2023 general elections would soon come and the people of Nigeria would have the opportunity to choose who will lead them, Viewers Corner News team would offer advice on the way forward as time goes on but the decision on who to cast your votes for is solely yours, if you choose wrongly, then you put your future and that of your children in a difficult situation. As a voter, always avoid these words, “If I had known, I would have done it differently”. Sometime ago, governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state during his speech on Fulani issues read some documents on how the Fulani tribe intended to conquer Nigeria, how they claimed that the country is their birth right and can live anywhere they like without interference. With all these troubling issues happening across the country at the moment, Nigerians both home and abroad need not to be told that some hidden agendas of the Fulani leadership of Nigeria would not favour the country anymore.
