A 47-year-old woman, Kelly Renee Gissendaner from Georgia who was convicted in 1998 for the murder of her husband, Douglas Gissendaner has been executed by lethal injection at 12:21am on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. Viewers Corner News source in Georgia, U.S informed us that Kelly Gissendaner who was the only woman on Georgia’s death row planned with her boyfriend, Gregory Owen to murder her husband. Kelly’s husband, Douglas Gissendaner was stabbed to death with knife by Gregory Owen in Gwinneth county, Georgia on February 7, 1997. Kelly Gissendaner was sentenced to death on November 20, 1998 and her boyfriend, Gregory Owen who testified against Kelly was sentenced to life in prison as part of a plea bargain. According to report, Kelly Gissendaner (a mother of three children) planned her husband’s death so that she could profit from two $10,000 life insurance policies and her husband’s $84,000 house. Pope Francis during his U.S tour recently made an appeal for Kelly Gissendaner’s life but the U.S Supreme Court rejected all the appeals for a stay of execution. Kelly Gissendaner’s execution on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 is the Georgia’s first female execution since 1945.
