The former Peoples Democratic Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh was on Tuesday sentenced to seven years in prison by Justice Okon Abang of Abuja Federal High Court for fraud and laundering of four hundred million Naira (N400m). Justice Okon Abang found Olisa Metuh guilty on all seven-count charge of money laundering and criminal diversion of four hundred million Naira (N400m) in the case that had been on for more than four years which was brought against him and his company (Destra Investment) by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The court ruled that Mr Olisa Metuh was aware that four hundred million Naira was transferred to his company (Destra Investment) from the office of the National Security Adviser during ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s era. Mr Metuh was ordered to pay a fine of N375 million and his company, Dextra Investment to pay a fine of N25 million. Also, Justice Okon Abang ordered that the account of Dextra Investment should be forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria and the company be dissolved.
