Viewers Corner News correspondent in London learned that the 47-year-old Wikileaks co-founder, Julian Assange has been sentenced to 50 weeks in prison for breaching bail conditions. He was sentenced on Wednesday, 1 May by Judge Deborah Taylor at Southwark Crown Court in London. In 2012, Julian Assange took refuge in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to avoid being extradited to Sweden over sexual assault allegations which he denied. The Australian-born Assange appears in another London court today (Thursday, 2 May 2019) for the court to consider if Assange should be extradited to the United States to face trial over the leak of government classified documents.
