Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that a court in the southern city of Curitiba has sentenced eight Brazilians men who were convicted of plotting a jihadist attack on the Rio Olympics to five and 15 years in prison. According to the report, these men were found guilty of recruiting and promoting terrorism. Judge Marcos Josegrei da Silva said in his sentencing that these men discussed terrorism online (how Brazil was a potential targets because of foreigners visiting the country during the Olympic Games, how to bomb buildings, use of knives, the acquisition of firearms etc). Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games started on August 5, 2016 and ended on August 21, 2016.
