JUDGE EMIRSAH BASTOG HAS CONVICTED 42 TURKISH SOLDIERS FOR TRYING TO ASSASSINATE PRESIDENT TAYYIP ERDOGAN DURING THE COUNTRY’S JULY 2016 FAILED COUP.

On Wednesday, October 4, 2017, forty two soldiers in Turkey were convicted by Judge Emirsah Bastog for attempting to assassinate President Tayyip Erdogan on the night of the July 15, 2015 failed coup. Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that Judge Emirsah Bastog sentenced 34 of these soldiers to aggravated life in prison at the court in Mugla, Turkey. Six soldiers were handed life terms while the other two were given lesser sentences. On July 2016, about 240 people were killed when the coup plotters attempted to overthrow the government of President Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey. Since then, over 150,000 people have been sacked from their jobs while about 50,000 were jailed. President Tayyip Erdogan blamed Muhammed Fethullah Gülen (former ally of Erdogan who since 1999 has lived in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania, USA) for the failed coup but Fethullah Gülen has denied involvement in the coup.
