Viewers Corner News correspondent gathered that World Bank President, Jim Yong Kim has unanimously won another five-year term after a three-week nomination period was closed with no other candidates proposed to lead the bank. According to report, Jim Yong Kim has gotten strong support from Germany, United States, France, China and other major shareholders of the Washington-based multilateral lender (World bank). Jim Yong Kim (56 years old Korean-American medical doctor) will continue with the job of leading the global bank when his first term ends on June 30, 2017. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (Nigerian former Finance Minister) competed with Jim Yong Kim for the bank’s presidency in 2012. World Bank was established in July 1944 with its official goal is poverty reduction.
