Jerry Correll (59 years old) who mercilessly and brutally killed his four family members (his ex-wife Susan Correll, Susan’s mother, Mary Lou Hines, his 5-year-old daughter and Susan’s sister Marybeth Jones) in 1985 has been executed through lethal injection by the Florida State Prison. Jerry Correll was pronounced dead at 7:36 p.m on Thursday, October 29, 2015 and he is the first person to be executed since January in the small, white death chamber at the Florida State Prison.
Jerry Correll’s execution is the 22nd to take place in the death chamber at Florida State Prison since Governor Rick Scott took office in 2011, more than any other Governor since the death penalty was reinstated in Florida in 1976. Former Governor Jeb Bush ordered 21 executions in his eight years in office and Charlie Crist ordered only five.
