Japan and India have signed a contract for Japan to help India develop its nuclear power and also supply India with high speed trains and military crafts. Viewers Corner News correspondent learnt that the agreement which was signed on Saturday, December 12, 2015 will boost India’s effort to become economic powerhouse and also strengthen cooperation between the two countries. In 1998, when India conducted five nuclear test, Japan imposed economic sanctions to India and withdrew its financial aids to the country but the sanctions were lifted in 2001 and since then, the two countries relationship has improved greatly. The contract signed will also help to upgrade India military equipment and Japan will build a high-speed train system in India using Japan’s Shinkansen bullet trains according to Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe. Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi showed his appreciation on behalf of his country (India) to Japan during a news conference with the Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.
