Democracy is government of the people, meaning that every leader should be able to explain to those that elected them to office how funds collected on behalf of their various states in the country (Nigeria) have been used. Viewers Corner News team is concerned with the way state governors in Nigeria are doing things. The elected governors in Nigeria collect monthly allocation from the federal government of Nigeria including other revenues and various loans they received to improve their various states, still they are not doing enough. This brings us to the question of what really is the problem? Could it be that they are not competent enough to manage the resources of their various states properly?
Our (Viewers Corner News team) findings have shown that almost all the governors in Nigeria are owing salaries and pensioners allowances in their various states despite the allocation they collect on monthly basis which is also for the purpose of paying salaries and pension allowances in their states. Recently president Buhari questioned how governors in Nigeria can sleep comfortably when the money given to them to pay workers in their various states is not being used for the purpose it was meant for. Only a president with good heart can ask such question. President Buhari of Nigeria is a man with conscience, hence he threw such question to the governors in Nigeria.
Again, almost all the states in Nigeria lack basic amenities, so what are these governors doing with all the billions they collect on behalf of their states? Nigerians should start asking questions now because very soon those governors who are incompetent would start asking for votes to continue their second tenure. Please Nigerians ask them to explain what they have done so far in their first tenure before casting your votes for them. It is your right as a voter to know how the allocations have been used and why the governor in question is still not paying workers salaries and pensioners allowances in his state. Please let them know that no governor can lead the people of his state with deceit, that time has long gone. We (Viewers Corner News team) are saying so because if what governors get on monthly basis is used properly, no state in Nigeria would lag behind but because of corruption, the states are not moving forward.
We are pleading with Nigerian voters not to vote for any governor in Nigeria who is still owing workers salaries and Pensioners allowances in this coming election. Nigeria voters should use this method as a weapon against governors in Nigeria who have no conscience. Governors should be up to date with workers salaries and pensioners allowances in their various states or no vote for them. Let this be the slogan of every eligible voter in Nigeria.
