ISLAMIC STATE ANNOUNCED A NEW LEADER AFTER THE GROUP CONFIRMED THE DEATH OF ABU BAKR AL-BAGHDADI.

It was reported that Islamic state has announced a successor to its late leader (Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi) days after he was killed in a U.S raid in Syria. The terror group’s new spokesman identified the successor as Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi in its audio released by the Islamic State central media arm (al-Furqan Foundation). The group traced their new leader’s lineage to the Prophet Muhammad’s Quraysh tribe just like al-Baghdadi. Also the death of Abu Hassan al-Muhajir (a close aide of al-Baghdadi and a spokesman for the group since 2016) was confirmed by the group’s new spokesman. Abu Hassan al-Muhajir was killed on Sunday in a joint U.S. operation with Kurdish forces some hours after Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi blew himself up during a U.S. raid in Idlib province (Syria).
