IRAQI GOVERNMENT HAS IMPOSED CURFEW IN BAGHDAD AFTER PROTESTERS CLASHED WITH SECURITY FORCES.

Viewers Corner News correspondent in Baghdad reported that curfew has been imposed in Baghdad after protesters clashed with security forces in Baghdad’s central Tahrir Square. The curfew is from midnight to 6 am. Thousands of students (both universities and secondary schools) in Baghdad and across Iraq’s majority-Shiite south disobeyed government’s order and joined the protests On Monday, 28 October 2019. About two protesters were killed and at least 100 wounded on Monday. The protesters are demanding the resignation of the government, accusing those in authority of corruption, economic stagnation and poor services. Iraq suffers from high unemployment and poor infrastructures despite the country’s vast oil wealth.
