Iraqi authorities have recovered the bodies of the country’s twenty soldiers who lost their lives when their ship (Al-Misbar) sank on Saturday last week following a collision with a foreign-flagged vessel. The tragedy happened off the country’s southern coast (Khor Abdullah maritime canal between Iraq and Kuwait) and eight sailors were rescued. Iraq transport ministry said that the bodies were found when the ship was raised on Thursday, August 24, 2017. Also the foreign vessel which collided with Al-Misbar has been impounded by Iraq. May the souls of the dead rest in peace.
