IRAN SAYS THOSE ACCUSED OF TAKING PART IN SHOOTING DOWN UKRAINE’S PLANE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED.

Some of those accused of taking part in Ukraine plane disaster had been arrested according to the statement made by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Iranian government has faced escalating confrontation with the West after it shot down Ukraine’s plane last week Wednesday, killing all 176 people on board. President Hassan Rouhani of Iran said that the government would be accountable to Iranians and those countries who lost their citizens in the crash. Almost those on board the Ukraine’s crashed flight were Iranians or dual nationals. Iran admitted on Saturday after days of denial that the Ukraine’s plane was mistakenly shot down when its military was on high alert after firing missiles at facilities housing U.S-led coalition in Iraq. In Iran, there have been unrest since January 3 that the United States killed Qassem Soleimani (Iran’s most powerful military commander) in a drone strike near Baghdad airport. Iran’s judiciary said that it has also arrested about 30 protesters who were demonstrating against the Ukraine’s plane that crashed after Iranian missile mistakenly hit it. Iran said that those demonstrating are taking part in illegal gatherings.
