IRAN LAUNCHED MISSILES ATTACKS ON AIN AL-ASAD AIR BASE THAT HOUSES U.S-LED COALIATION TROOPS IN IRAQ.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps  on Wednesday launched 22 missiles on Ain al-Asad air base that houses U.S.-led coalition troops in the western Anbar province and another military base in Erbil (the Iraqi Kurdish capital). According to the report our correspondent in Baghdad gathered, 17 missiles fell on Ain al-Asad air base while five missiles fell on coalition headquarters in the city of Erbil. The Iran’s missile attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq is a revenge of the U.S. drone strike on an Iranian commander (Qassem Soleimani) last week Friday near Baghdad airport. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said that the missiles fired on facilities housing U.S.-led coalition troops is a slap on the face of the United States for killing Qassem Soleimani and that U.S. troops should leave the region. The country (Iran) also said that it does not want war and the missile attacks concluded its response to the killing of Qassem Soleimani. Over 5,000 United States troops along with other foreign forces are in Iraq in coalition that has trained and supported Iraqi forces against the Islamic State threats.
