Viewers Corner’s recent findings revealed that majority of the products exported to the third world countries especially Nigeria are from China and most of these products are of low quality/sub-standard ranging from electronics, mobile phones, clothing, food products etc. If you compare these products to the ones exporting from China to advanced countries, you will find out that there are not of the same quality/standard.
The ones exporting from China to advanced countries are of better quality/standard. The reason is that advanced countries have agencies/special departments established to take care of any product coming into their countries because they care so much about the welfare and health conditions of their citizens, which is very good. Therefore any sub-standard product shipped to their countries will be destroyed or send back to the manufacturer but in the third world countries, some government officials and some business men go to China and specifically ask them to produce cheap/sub-standard products and ship to their countries (third world) just for their selfish gains. This is because there are no good regulatory measures like in advanced world.
The question Viewers Corner is asking these corrupt government officials and the business men who allow Chinese companies to use their countries as dumping grounds for all sort of goods is, where is their conscience and integrity? How do you grow from being third world to advance world? Again even if there are regulatory measures, corruption will not allow these measures to function properly and all these sub standard products in the long run could cause various health problems to the citizens of these third world countries. These groups of government officials and business men from third world countries are only interested in the amount of money they can make which is not fair.
Another sad aspect of this whole findings revealed that in China, there is this particular company (name withheld) that manufactures jeans wear and the chemicals used in the production process by this company pass through a stream/river beside where the company is located and some poor Chinese citizens that reside near this particular company use water from this stream/river for their day to day activities. Since this stream/river is polluted, it shows that one can contact different kinds of dangerous diseases from this stream/river and that is where these Chinese villagers have been getting their drinking water and Chinese authority is not saying or doing anything about it. Viewers Corner call this inhuman treatment and carelessness on the part of the company and also the Chinese authority. Why would such a thing happen to these poor Chinese citizens? Is it because no one is going to speak on their behalf? This is very wrong. Viewers Corner has concluded plans to write a special letter to the Chinese authority telling them our position on this issue and also to the human right organization to plead with this company so as to find ways of re-directing their waste materials to other areas that will not affect the health conditions of these poor Innocent Chinese citizens. Viewers corner is appealing to the Chinese authority to show kindness and respect for humanity by asking this company and the others to please re-direct their waste materials to where it will not cause health problems to these individuals and the world at large. Once again, Viewers Corner share in the pains these innocent and good citizens of this world are passing through on daily basis. May God help and bless us all.
