INEC HAS DECLARED GOVERNOR GODWIN OBASEKI WINNER OF EDO STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION, CONGRATULATIONS.

Governor Godwin Obaseki, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won his re-election as Independent National Electoral Commission declared him the winner of the just concluded Edo state gubernatorial election held on Saturday 19 September 2020. Governor Godwin Obaseki (Peoples Democratic Party) defeated his major contender (Mr Osagie Ize-Iyamu of All Progressives Congress) to win his second term as governor of Edo state. Mr Obaseki got total votes of 307,955 while Pastor Ize-Iyamu of APC got 223,619 votes. The governor defeated his major opponent (Pastor Ize-Iyamu of APC) with over 84,336 votes.

Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh (INEC Returning Officer) announced the total results of the election and declared governor Godwin Obaseki winner. Congratulations to governor Godwin Obaseki and the great people of Edo state.
