It was reported that more than 270 people have been killed, over one million people displaced, thousands of homes, roads and rail lanes were also destroyed by floods and landslides across six states in India. According to our correspondent, the Indian states mostly affected by the landslides are Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat. In Kerala, about 95 people were killed and dozens were trapped in damaged roads and rail lanes. More than 190,000 people are still living in relief camps in the state (Kerala). In Karnataka, about 54 people were killed and 15 missing after rivers bursted their banks when authorities released water from dams. About 700,000 people were evacuated in the state (Karnataka). Also in Maharashtra, about 48 people were killed and 32 people died in Madhya Pradesh. In Gujarat, 31 people were killed by landslides while 12 people died in Uttarakhand. The rain from June to September causes a lot of damages and death every year in India.
