INDIA DENIES PAKISTAN’S STATEMENT THAT KASHMIR CROSS-BORDER FIRE KILLED THREE PAKISTANIS AND FIVE INDIAN SOLDIERS.

It was reported that three Pakistanis and five Indian soldiers were killed after a cross-border exchange of fire in the disputed region of Kashmir. The statement was made on Twitter by Major General Asif Ghafoor (spokesman of Pakistan armed forces) on Thursday, 15 August but Indian army denied there were fatalities among its soldiers across Line of Control. Indian army also said that Pakistan violated a ceasefire between the two countries in the heavily militarised Line of Control at around 7am. Indian government recently scrapped the special status of Indian control Kashmir. The decision blocks the right of Jammu and Kashmir which are mostly Muslims to make its own laws and also allows non-residents to buy property there. India also deployed thousands of its army and arrested political leaders in Indian-control Kashmir.
