President Bola Tinubu’s lawyers are asking the university that their client claimed to have attended in the United States of America not to release the credentials as requested by the ex-vice president of Nigeria (Mr. Atiku Abubakar), who also contested the presidential election on February 25, 2023, but lost. According to President Bola Tinubu’s lawyers, giving out that information to Mr. Atiku Abubakar would violate President Bola Tinubu’s rights. This is laughable. Now hear our point on this issue: the moment President Bola Tinubu applied to be the president of Nigeria, he became a public project for scrutiny. Meaning that everything about him must be properly examined by all Nigerians because he applied for the number one job in the country. Such a position should be given to someone with outstanding qualities, not someone with too many skeletons in his closet. Based on objections from President Bola Tinubu’s lawyers asking the University of Chicago not to release these vital documents, it means that President Bola Tinubu might have stolen someone’s identity. Again, those credentials President Bola Tinubu is parading himself with may belong to another person. If his hands are clean, he would have quickly asked the university to release the documents so as to clear all doubts about his academic records. President Bola Tinubu is not qualified to be called the president of Nigeria and should be disqualified, in our opinion. Leaders should lead by showing good example to their subjects, and for a country to grow and move to the next level, those seeking leadership positions should be individuals with integrity and not those with questionable characters.
