Viewers Corner News team has always been President Buhari’s supporter and would always be but issues of human rights violations by some agencies under President Buhari’s leadership is unacceptable to us and Nigerians. President Buhari’s government is taking things to the extreme. If Nigeria is in a military regime, then it can be understandable but as long as the country (Nigeria) is running a democratic system of government, the principles and rule of law must be followed. President Buhari and his government are not obeying court’s orders and this attitude is no longer acceptable to majority of Nigerians both home and abroad. In a democratic system of government, if a law court issues an order, it must be obeyed. Look at Mr Sambo Dasuki who has been held since 2015 without trial and now Mr Omoyele Sowore who the law court in Nigeria has granted bail, he is still not released. Those government agencies holding these people in their custody lost touch completely when it comes to issues of democracy. Another surprising aspect is that in President Buhari’s government, the vice president of the country (Nigeria) is a law professor and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). In the same government, there are great lawyers who are also serving ministers, we (Viewers Corner News team) expect them to tell President Buhari to release those his government is keeping in custody or charge them to court where they would know their faith. Again, we (Viewers Corner News team) are calling on President Buhari to release Mr Sambo Dasuki and Mr Omoyele Sowore who the law courts have granted bail. It is undemocratic to keep them in detention without trial after competent law courts in Nigeria have granted them bail. Please let them go.
