The Viewers Corner News team is revisiting this issue to let the African leaders know that nothing is free, most especially for those leaders in the continent of Africa who run to China all the time for monetary assistance. China will give you with one hand and collect with one hundred hands, leaving you with debts which your country may not be able to pay in a life time. In 2012, the Chinese authorities built a huge building for the African Union in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). After completion, Africans were very excited, but the Viewers Corner News team warned the African leaders back then that they should tread carefully. After five years of using the building, it was alleged that the building was bugged by the Chinese authorities. Meaning that lots of secret devices were installed in that huge building which transmitted every discussion/meeting held in that building to China. The Chinese authorities denied the allegation. Some African engineers later dismantled every gadget installed in that building by the Chinese authorities. The Chinese authorities also wanted to assist the African engineers to reinstall new devices, but the African engineers said no, that they could handle the installation themselves, which they did perfectly.
Again, in Kenya, the Chinese authorities built one of the largest rail systems where announcements were always made in Chinese language, as alleged. As an African, what does this tell you? The Chinese authorities are everywhere in Africa, doing projects which is nice, but the terms and conditions of these contracts may not be favourable in the long run if you can no longer pay your debt. All African countries have become debt owing nations in the hands of China, but they do not want to stop borrowing. At every little opportunity, they run to China to borrow money, leaving huge debts for the future generation of their various countries. The essence of this article is to open the eyes of African leaders who, at any given opportunity, borrow money from China to execute projects that may not be beneficial to their people. African leaders, work with China as partners if you have to. Give them your own terms and conditions, such terms that would favour the people of your various countries. Anything short of that should not be considered because, in the long run, it may backfire if not properly negotiated.
