IMO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY (NIGERIA) PASSED A LAW STOPPING EX-GOVERNORS AND EX-SPEAKERS IN THE STATE FROM RECEIVING PENSIONS AND OTHER ENTITLEMENTS.

Information reaching Viewers Corner News from our correspondent in Owerri (Imo state, Nigeria) revealed that the Imo state house of assembly has passed a law stopping ex-governors and ex-speakers in the state from receiving pension allowances and other entitlements which is a welcome news. Viewers Corner News team would also use this opportunity to call on other states in Nigeria to do the same. In the past, we (Viewers Corner News team) wrote articles on this topic because the huge amount of money paid as pensions to ex-governors and others in Nigeria who most of them are still very young is draining the finances of various states and Nigeria in general, while most workers in various states of the country (Nigeria) are still being owed their monthly salaries for years. If you put together pension allowances of ex-governors in Nigeria, it would go a long way in creating viable ventures in Nigeria which would give employment to the unemployed. Again, states in Nigeria need lots of money to create infrastructures that would bring benefits to the people and to achieve that, various states government should cut some expenses from every angle they feel money is being spent recklessly. It is not all the time that a state should ask for loan to do the needful, it is better to look within to solve pressing issues because any loan a state takes, if not properly used would put the state in a disadvantage position. So for Imo state house of assembly to take such bold step, it means that they are on the right way to success and Viewers Corner News team commended them for doing so.
