Corruption, insecurity and unemployment are the three key issues the Viewers Corner News team is calling on the federal government of Nigeria to concentrate on and possibly use their remaining months in office to address them. On the corruption issue, Mr. Bawa, who is the boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, is doing a good job. The method his commission is using to fight corruption, if consistently followed, should yield positive results in the long run. However, the Viewers Corner News team is calling on Mr. Bawa to have focus. Do not deviate or compromise your position and integrity for anything, because we believe that you are on the right track. In no time, based on the information before Viewers Corner News, the issue of corruption, which is a killer disease that has taken part of the economy of Nigeria, will be drastically reduced if not completely eradicated from the system. The Viewers Corner News team would also use this opportunity to call on all Nigerians, especially contractors, that collect contracts of any kind from the government, to work with honesty by executing the job properly. Not too long ago, an angry young man was seen lamenting over the construction of a drainage system in Akoko-Ado in Edo state (Nigeria), which was poorly constructed. Even those who do not have knowledge of road construction would understand that something was wrong in the construction of that drainage in Edo state. It then boils down to the issue of corruption we are talking about. The government of Nigeria should award contracts to those with the right equipment to do the job instead of giving them to those who do not know anything about road construction, simply because they want to favour their own person and at the same time get a huge cut out of that contract. Such an attitude will always bring a nation backward. It should stop so that Nigeria can grow and move to the next level.
