IBE KACHIKWU (THE NIGERIA MINISTER OF STATE FOR PETROLEUM RESOURCES) HAS COME AGAIN WITH ANOTHER PROMISE, HE ALLEGEDLY SAID THAT BY 2019 NIGERIA WILL STOP IMPORTING REFINED PETROLEUM PRODUCTS. HOW POSSIBLE CAN THIS BE?

It is the wish of every Nigerian for the country (Nigeria) to move forward, this has always been the prayers of all Nigerians both home and abroad but it is unfortunate that most Nigerian leaders are not properly informed or knowledgeable on their jobs before coming out to make announcements on certain issues. This is troubling and not alright at all. We are referring to what the minister of state for petroleum resources (Dr Ibe Kachikwu) allegedly said that Nigeria will stop importing refined petroleum products by 2019. It sounds very interesting but misleading which brings us to this question, how possible can this be? One thing most of these Nigerian leaders do not understand is this, as Dr Ibe Kachikwu has made this promise now, if that 2019 Nigeria still continue to import refined petroleum products which we are very sure they will taking into consideration the situation of the Nigerian economy, then Nigerians would start reacting negatively to the statement made by the minister of state for petroleum resources which is their right if such promise is not kept. It would have been better if the minister tells Nigerians that if things go well in the country, Nigeria may stop importing refined petroleum products in 2019. It has to be a probability issue because Nigeria is a third world country that rely one hundred percent on petroleum resources and you never can tell how the situation would be before your assumed date. Sincerely such projections can comfortably be made by advance countries of the world (countries that manufactures such industrial equipment). As long as such equipment are not manufactured in Nigeria, it does not make any sense to give one hundred percent assurance on that petroleum matters because so many things are involved and we expect the minister to understand that before assuring Nigerians. Again Nigeria is facing real economic crisis and needs lots of money to put things right, therefore we are reminding Dr. Ibe Kachikwu (the minister of state for petroleum resources) to kindly do his homework properly on this issue because this is not the first time he is promising Nigerians and at the end the situation still remain the same. The truth here is that we do not see how Nigeria with her growing population would stop importing refined petroleum products and with the type of leaders Nigeria has, we doubt that so much. Dr. Ibe Kachikwu (the minister of state for petroleum resources) is not being realistic on his statement, he should find something else to tell Nigerians. However we (Viewers Corner News team) have just spoken our mind on this issue.
