HUNDREDS OF FLIGHTS SCHEDULED ACROSS SCANDINAVIA HAVE BEEN CANCELLED BY THE SCANDINAVIAN AIRLINE (SAS) DUE TO SAS PILOTS’ STRIKE.

It was reported that hundreds of flights scheduled for Sunday, 29 April have been cancelled by the Scandinavian airline SAS due to ongoing strike embarked by pilots in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, leaving thousands of passengers stranded. SAS pilots started strike on Friday, 26 April as wage talks hit the rock without an agreement leading to cancellation of domestic, European and long haul flights thereby affecting thousands of passengers. Over the weekend, the ongoing strike affected about 170,000 passengers after 587 flights were canceled across Scandinavia. According to the report our correspondent in Stockholm gathered, pilots are demanding 13 percent increase in wages while another report revealed that the dispute is about pilots’ demand for more predictable and transparent working hours.
