The Iranian-backed Lebanese group “Hezbollah” has been officially declared a terrorist organization by a Honduras government. Luis Suazo (Honduras’ deputy security minister) said that the country has included Hezbollah (a Shi’ite Muslim group) in the registry of persons and institutions linked to acts of terrorism and its financing. Hezbollah was also designated a terrorist organization by the United States government. The Guatemala’s president (Alejandro Giammattei) last week said that he would label Hezbollah a terrorist group. He also said that he would keep the Guatemalan embassy in Israel in the city of Jerusalem. Israel, Britain, Argentina, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the European Union have also designated Hezbollah or its military wing as a terrorist organization.
