Hashem Abedi, 23 year old younger brother of the Manchester Arena bomber (Salman Abedi) who exploded Ariana Grande concert in Manchester (England) in 2017 has been sentenced to a minimum of 55 years in prison. The explosion set off by Salman Abedi at the concert killed 22 people and wounded hundreds. The suicide bomber brother (Hashem Abedi) was sentenced on Thursday, 20 August by Judge Jeremy Baker. Although Hashem Abedi denied helping his brother, the court found him guilty of murder, attempted murder and conspiring to cause explosions. Judge Jeremy Baker said that Hashem Abedi and his bomber brother are both guilty of the deaths and injuries caused by the explosion. He also stated that Hashem Abedi would have been sentenced to life in prison if he was over 21 years at the time of explosion and he must serve a minimum of 55 years before been released. Salman Abedi set off explosion in the arena’s foyer at the end of the concert on 22 May 2017 as thousands of people including children were leaving the Ariana Grande’s show. He (Salman Abedi) died in the explosion.
