The 67 year old former Hollywood producer, Harvey Weinstein was on Wednesday sentenced to 23 years in prison by a Criminal Court in Manhattan (New York City). The disgraced movie mogul Weinstein was convicted on first-degree criminal sexual act and third-degree rape in a case that fueled the global #MeToo movement and encouraged women to speak out against sexual abuse. The New York state Judge James Burke sentenced him (Harvey Weinstein) to 20 years in prison for criminal sexual act and three years in prison for rape. According to the report, the sentences will run consecutively. Harvey Weinstein will be on supervision for five years after being released from prison and he must register as a sex offender.
