HAKEEM AL-ARAIBI TO BE RELEASED FROM THAILAND PRISON AFTER BAHRAIN DROPPED EXTRADITION REQUEST AGAINST HIM.

Viewers Corner News correspondent in Bangkok learned that Bahrain authority has dropped extradition request against Hakeem Al-Araibi, the refugee footballer arrested and detained in Thailand last year November while on his honeymoon in Thailand. Thai court has approved the request and this means that Hakeem Al-Araibi will be released from Thailand prison. Chatchom Akapin (director general of foreign affairs for the Office of the Attorney General) confirmed the information. Hakeem Al-Araibi who is a citizen of Bahrain was sentenced in absentia in 2014 to 10 years in prison by Bahraini government for a vandalism charge. He has a refugee status in Australia.
