GULAM BODI, THE FORMER SOUTH AFRICAN INTERNATIONAL CRICKETER HAS BEEN BANNED FOR TWENTY YEARS FOR MATCH FIXING.

Gulam Bodi , a 37-year-old former South Africa Cricketer has been banned for 20 years for corruption related offence. According to report, Gulam Bodi who played for South Africa three times both against Zimbabwe in August 2007 admitted to his offence of attempting to fix matches in the 2015 Ram Slam Twenty20 competition and he was banned recently from having any involvement in cricket worldwide. His banning was announced by Haroon Lorgat, the chief executive of Cricket South Africa (CSA) during the fourth and final Test between South Africa and England at SuperSport Park and it takes immediate effect. Gulam Bodi escaped life banning because he admitted to his offences. Match Fixing is a criminal offence in South Africa under the Prevention and Combatting Corrupt Activities Act, known as “Hansie’s law”.
