GREECE TO EXPEL LIBYAN AMBASSADOR OVER TURKEY-LIBYA ACCORD SIGNED ON NOVEMBER 27.

Greece announced that it will expel Libyan ambassador (Mohamed Younis AB Menfi) over an accord signed between Libya and Turkey, mapping out a sea boundary between the two countries close to Crete. Our (Viewers Corner News) correspondent in Athens learned that Greek government is angered by the accord after Libyan officials assured them that the deal would not be signed. Nikos Dendias, the Greek foreign minister said on Friday that the Turkey-Libyan accord is a violation of international law and that Mohamed Younis AB Menfi (Libyan ambassador) has 72 hours to leave the country. Greece also sees the move (Libyan-Turkish agreement) as an infringement on its sovereign rights. The Libyan-Turkish agreement according to report could worsen Turkey’s disputes over offshore energy exploration in the Mediterranean with nations including Greece. For decades, Greece and Turkey have been having issues including mineral rights in the Aegean Sea to ethnically-split Cyprus.
